New course:

PIW now offers a course on the Esthetics of Video Editing, covering the basic principles that professional editors utilize to orchestrate compelling narratives. This course is ideal for those who would like to build a career as professional editors as well as for those who would like to edit their own projects.

AE 101 After Effects I:

In this course, students will learn the entire interface of Adobe After Effects CS3 and use this application to create 2-dimensional compositions with sequenced media clips, layers with animation, motion and animated effects to overlaying media elements.

Students will work with Apple’s Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator along with After Effects CS3 in the creation of their ideas and assignments. Students need to be experienced with the Macintosh platform. A familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro is helpful.

There are three different schedules for the course of After Effects I:

One-Week [weekday] Program:
18 Hours / Tuition $940
3 weekdays, 10am – 5pm

One-Week [weeknight] Program:
18 Hours / Tuition $940
Monday- Saturday, 6:30pm – 9:30pm

Weekend Program:
12 Hours / Tuition $770
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 5pm

AE 102 After Effects II:

This course takes on the challenge of creating a complete graphics package, focusing on advanced masking techniques, time re-mapping, blue and green screen keying, color correction, procedural matte manipulation, motion tracking and motion stabilization.

Students will work with Apple’s Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator along with After Effects CS3 in the creation of their ideas and assignments. Students need to be experienced with the Macintosh platform. A familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro is necessary.
